2012-13 School Theme – Love, Honor, Serve

Serving locally
Students will share the love of Jesus in various service opportunities during National Lutheran Schools Week. We will visit Briarwood Nursing Home and sing, play together and bring art projects. Please watch for permission slips to come home. We are excited to be in the community sharing our love!

Serving internationally
Another service opportunity for students will be collecting items for the Rwandan Orphans Project. Two members of Christ Lutheran Church are traveling to Rwanda in May to visit the students at the Rwandan Orphanage in Kigali, Rwanda. The Rwandan Orphans Project provides housing, clothing, food, health care and education to children without homes. We want to send basic necessities from Arkansas to Rwanda! Below is a list of items we will collect during National Lutheran Schools Week to bless other students in the world. Watch for an email with more information on this special project.

Items we will collect:

Blue and black ink pens
Black cotton socks (for boys, ages 5-18)
Cotton underwear (for boys, ages 5-18)
Soccer balls (we’ll send them deflated; we’d love to have enough for every class to sign a ball!)
